Direct file sharing

Share a file straight from your device with a two-hour link or QR code. No server upload.

  1. 1Choose a file
  2. 2Share your link
  3. 3They connect & save

Two-hour links. Keep your page open.

Your file takes a shortcut.

Pick a file. Give someone your link. They save it straight from your device.

What would you like to do?

One file at a time. For several files, make a ZIP first.

Who can download?

Your file stays with you until someone downloads it.

Encrypted on the way. No file upload to our servers.

A thoughtful limit. A safer handoff.

Why does a sharing link have a timer?

A link lasts two hours to keep shared sessions temporary and discourage misuse. Need a little longer? Either connected person can add 30 minutes for free, once per session. You can stop sharing at any time and make a fresh link. Stopping cannot remove copies already saved.

How do abuse reports help?

Admitted recipients can report a session. Reports from the same network count once for a sender network. Two counted reports trigger a warning; five pause file sharing from that network, including existing sessions when our next safety check runs. Reports are concerns, not proof, and a shared Wi-Fi network can include unrelated people.

We keep a small private safety record and a protected review process. We do not collect the shared file or store raw IP addresses. If your network is paused by mistake, use Send feedback below to ask for review and include the review code shown in the notice, or the time of your session. A block applies to this file-sharing tool and cannot prevent sharing elsewhere or from a different network.

Does encryption mean a file is safe to open?

No. Encryption protects files during transfer. It cannot identify viruses, malware or unlawful material. Accept files only from people you trust, use your device's security software and avoid opening unexpected files.

A little help for a faster handoff.

The sender's upload speed and the other person's download speed decide how fast it goes.

  • Use a cable, or sit closer to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Pause other big downloads, cloud backups and video streams.
  • Leave the speed setting on Unlimited for the fastest available transfer.
  • Keep both devices plugged in, awake and on this page.
  • For a large file, use Chrome or Edge on a computer with enough free disk space.
  • One download gets more of your connection than five at once.

Encrypted device-to-device sharing. Keep both pages open.

How to use Direct file sharing

  1. Pick one file. Choose Invited only or Anyone with the link, then make your two-hour link.
  2. Send the link or QR code. Keep your device awake and your page open. Approve people you recognize if you chose Invited only.
  3. They connect and press Save file. Watch their progress, adjust speed or stop sharing at any time.

A link to your device, not a file in storage

Your file stays on your device. The link introduces the other person to you. While both pages are open, they can save the file straight from your device. Closing your page or putting your device to sleep interrupts sharing.

Choose who gets a copy

Invited only asks you to approve each named person. Names are supplied by guests, so recognize the person before allowing them. Anyone with the link skips approval. Five connections may be ready or downloading at once. Every recipient uses a separate part of your upload connection.

Large files and speed

There is no fixed application file-size cap when the receiving browser can save straight to disk. Desktop Chrome and Edge support this flow. Other browsers use a bounded 128 MiB memory download. Free disk space, network speed and the two-hour lifetime still limit what you can finish. Unlimited removes our speed throttle; it cannot make your internet connection faster.

If a connection cannot be made

Try another Wi-Fi network or a phone hotspot on either device. Work and school networks may block direct sharing. We use free connection setup services and no file relay. The service cannot connect every pair of networks. Stop sharing closes current connections and retires the link; it cannot remove copies already saved.

About this tool

Are my files uploaded to your servers?

No. File contents travel directly between devices over encrypted connections. Your link carries signed temporary connection details; a small safety API checks sessions and accepts reports. File contents are never stored. Free signaling and network setup services handle connection information, and connected peers may learn each other's IP address.

Does the sender need to stay online?

Yes. Keep the sender device awake, connected and on this page until everyone finishes. Both sides need an open page. The link lasts two hours, including download time. Either connected person can add 30 minutes for free, once per session.

How large can a shared file be?

We impose no fixed file-size cap for direct-to-disk downloads supported by desktop Chrome and Edge. Other browsers can receive up to 128 MiB in memory. Available disk space, browser support, network speed and the two-hour lifetime are practical limits.

How do invited-only downloads work?

The sender approves each named guest. Names are not verified identities. You can decline or disconnect people and allow at most five ready or downloading connections. Anyone with the link mode skips manual approval.

Why does my sharing link fail to connect?

Some networks block direct connections. Try another Wi-Fi network or a phone hotspot on either device, keep both pages open and ask for a fresh link if the invitation ended. We do not use a paid bandwidth relay.

Can I have more time?

Yes. Both sides see the remaining time. Either connected person can add 30 minutes for free, once per session. Stop sharing retires the link; make a fresh one when needed. Keep devices awake and both pages open.

Are files checked for viruses or unlawful content?

No. Encryption protects the transfer, but it does not make a file safe. We cannot see or scan shared files. Share only with people you know and trust. Unlawful or exploitative content is not allowed. Admitted recipients can report suspected malware, unlawful content or harassment.

What happens after an abuse report?

We keep a small private record, without the shared file or raw IP addresses. Reports from one network count once for a sender network. Two counted reports warn the host; five pause file sharing from that network. Active sessions stop on the next safety check, within about a minute while the page is active. Reports are allegations, and shared networks can affect unrelated people. Use Send feedback to request review. Blocks apply to our tool and cannot prevent sharing elsewhere.

Your country / region

The flag reflects approximate network location, not nationality or where your files are stored. VPNs and travel can change it. Choose another flag or a neutral globe.

Your display choice stays on this device. We use Vercel’s country header; no GPS or third-party location lookup.
