Keep the answers that matter.
Paste a chat, select what to keep, then make a document.
Accepted formats and privacy
Text and Markdown files up to 2 MiB, with up to 1,000 messages. Portable JSON uses {"messages":[{"role":"user","content":"Hi"},{"role":"assistant","content":"Hello"}]}. Native provider ZIP exports and shared-session links are not supported in this version.
Chat text stays in this tab. Nothing is automatically saved or uploaded. Reloading, closing or leaving starts fresh; switching tabs keeps your work. Downloaded or printed copies remain on your device.
Your document, your selection.
Your preview will appear here.
Preview your text to choose individual messages. Code stays as text, and tables stay readable.
Download creates selectable text with Latin, Greek and Cyrillic font support. For other scripts or emoji, use Print / Save PDF and choose your browser's PDF destination. LaTeX stays as source text. Wide PDF tables use labeled rows; images are not embedded. Direct download stops at 100 pages; browser printing depends on your browser.
Processed on your device. No file upload.
How to use ChatGPT to PDF
- Paste copied messages, choose a text or Markdown file, or try the labeled practice chat.
- Preview, select messages and choose the paper and text size.
- Create and download your PDF, or use Print / Save PDF for other scripts. Check the saved pages.
Save useful answers as a document
Copy the messages you want to keep from your ChatGPT conversation and paste them into the workspace. Review the text before exporting. This tool works with the text you supply; it does not sign in to ChatGPT, fetch private chats or connect to your account.
Choose individual messages
Separate speakers with # User and # Assistant on their own lines. The preview turns those headings into message choices. Headings inside fenced code remain part of the code. Without speaker headings, your paste remains one conversation block, so assistant-only selection is unavailable.
Preview before downloading
Markdown headings, bold text, code blocks and simple pipe tables receive a reading layout. Raw HTML stays text and remote images are not loaded. The downloadable PDF has selectable text, wraps long code and presents table entries as labeled rows to avoid cutting off wide columns. Mathematical LaTeX is kept as source notation rather than typeset equations.
Keep other scripts and emoji
The bundled download font covers Latin, Greek and Cyrillic. If a character is missing, PDF creation stops instead of removing it. Choose Print / Save PDF to use the fonts available in your browser and select a PDF destination in its print dialog. Check that your device has fonts for your text.
Private input, explicit copies
Conversation content stays in this tab and is not sent to URLtoFile. The site still serves its normal code and font files. Closing, reloading or leaving starts fresh, while switching tabs keeps your current work. Downloaded or printed copies are yours to manage. This independent tool is not affiliated with OpenAI.
About this tool
Can I paste a ChatGPT shared link?
This version accepts copied conversation text, not shared-session URLs. Copy the messages you want to keep, or import a local text or Markdown file. No account access is requested.
Can I save only assistant answers?
Yes, when your input identifies speakers with # Assistant and # User headings, or portable JSON role fields. Preview first, then select Assistant messages only. Unlabeled text remains one block and is not assigned a guessed speaker.
Is the PDF searchable?
The direct PDF download contains selectable text. The bundled font supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic; unsupported characters stop creation with a browser Print / Save PDF alternative. Print output depends on your browser and installed fonts.
Are equations, code and tables preserved?
Code remains text and wraps across pages. Simple Markdown tables are shown as tables in the preview; downloaded PDFs use labeled rows to keep wide tables readable. LaTeX remains readable source notation. Images, attachments and exact ChatGPT screen styling are not reproduced.
What files can I import?
Text (.txt), Markdown (.md or .markdown), and portable JSON with a messages array of role/content strings. Native ChatGPT export ZIP files and provider-specific export structures are not supported yet. Inputs are limited to 2 MiB and 1,000 messages; direct PDFs stop at 100 pages.
