How to use OpenDocument to PDF
- Choose an ODT, ODS, ODP or ODF file.
- Create a reading PDF. This extracts text and stored cell values rather than the original design.
- Inspect the extracted text preview, then download your PDF.
Four OpenDocument formats, one reading PDF
ODT is a text document, ODS is a spreadsheet, ODP is a presentation and the literal ODF extension is a formula document. This tool extracts their supported text locally rather than running a full office suite.
What appears in the PDF
ODT paragraphs and headings appear in document order. ODS worksheets show their names and stored cell values with simple column separators. ODP exports slide text in slide order. ODF formulas become simplified notation such as (a) / (b) and x^(2). Images, charts and original styling are omitted.
Review before sharing
Spreadsheet formulas are not recalculated. Missing cached results are marked explicitly. The A4 reading PDF renders supported browser characters as page images, so it has no searchable text layer. Use your office application for faithful printing or image-only documents.
About this tool
Can I convert ODT, ODS, ODP and ODF files?
Yes, for supported text content. ODT paragraphs, ODS cached values, ODP slide text and ODF formulas become a simple reading PDF. The literal ODF extension refers to formulas.
Does it preserve the original office layout?
No. Images, charts, original formatting and page layout are omitted. Formulas use simplified notation. Use an office application when you need faithful PDF rendering.
Are spreadsheet formulas recalculated?
No. Cached cell values are exported. Formulas without stored results are marked rather than computed.
Is the PDF searchable?
No. Text is rendered as page images to support browser characters. You can copy the extracted text preview separately.
Are my OpenDocument files uploaded?
No. Package reading, text extraction and PDF creation run locally in your browser. Password-protected files are unsupported.
